Sanctuary

A poem by supporter John Behan
The Donkey Sanctuary takes in the unwanted,
Big eyes, crooked feet, unhealthy donkeys,
Yet beauty inexplicable draws the eyes.
Even broken and bleeding they show beauty,
Caring people prove the badness a minority.
People a multitude of ages prove the bright nature,
That a few by their actions cannot dull.
On a cold rainy night these lucky animals,
Shelter in dry clean homes no more to be forgotten, forlorn.
